Apple has knocked Aston Martin from its title as the UK’s coolest brand, according to a survey.
The luxury car lost the top spot to the technology superbrand, which has just launched its iPhone5 to near universal acclaim, falling to third place after dominating the annual CoolBrands list for six of the last seven years.
The 11th annual poll placed You Tube second, Twitter fourth and Google fifth.
Armed and dangerous
A police officer accidentally fired a gun confiscated by an airport security check while trying to unload it.
No-one was injured in the incident at Philadelphia International Airport, which arose after a flight atten-dant forgot to take the pistol from her luggage before going to work.
Police said an officer tried to make the weapon safe by removing the bullets, but instead accidentally fired it.
Fireman Sam’s advice
When Liam Robinson’s mother collapsed he knew what to do - because he remembered advice from his favourite TV show.
The six-year-old called for an ambulance because of lyrics to the Fireman Sam song “get out, stay out, call 999”.
Mum Rebecca Forsyth, who is now back at home in County Durham, said, “We have always taught him he should ring 999 in an emergency, but he said he knew what to do because of the Fireman Sam song.”
