The YADA Dance Company said today that its upcoming production, Dance Rush will be performed in the US, several Eurpean countries and Australasia after a seriesof shows in Malta next month and in November.
Dance Rush is an extravagant production with dazzling choreography, music, lights, visual effects and costumes.
It will be previewed in Malta on October 26, 27 and 28 and November 4 at the Mediterranean Conference Centre in Valletta.
It will then travel to San Francisco, USA for nine shows starting on January 11. Another nine major American cities will follow together with performances in Europe and AustralAsia.
The production was inspired by the motion picture August Rush - the story of a 12-year old boy who was orphaned at birth but still believed that music would reunite him with his parents. It traces the story of the boy’s journey to reunite with his parents. He comes across seven characters symbolising the seven musical notes and seven types of Dance (Rock, Hip Hop, Swing, Ethnic, Opera, Jazz and Classical) which bring him closer to his dream.

Music includes symphonies from the August Rush soundtrack, authentic sounds of Maltese musicians Etnika, Dominic Galea, Red Electrick and DJ Ruby, classical hits composed by Vivaldi, Bach and Shostakovich and operatic highlights from Madame Butterfly, La Traviata and Carmen together with music by Jennifer Lopez, Michael Buble and Chiara singing live.
