Hotels and other collective accommodation establishments saw a 3.6% increase in arrivals in July compared to the same month last year, NSO figures issued today show.
Arrivals reached reached 146,062.
The average length of stay remained at par with last year and stood at 6.9 nights.
Arrivals were up by 6.9% and 12.2% respectively in 5-star and 3-star
hotels but there was a decline in 4-star hotel accommodation, the NSO said.
Total guest nights went up by 3.7 per cent and amounted to just over 1 million.
The net use of bed-places stood at 82.4 per cent – 2.2 percentage points higher than last year. The biggest increase in occupancy levels was registered among 3-star hotels, which added 8.2 percentage points. Furthermore, 5-star hotels saw an increase in occupancy, reaching a level comparable to that of 4-star hotels.
