Spanish fashion brand Mango recently presented its new autumn/winter collection at one of Istanbul’s most luxurious hotels – the Çiragan Palace Kempinski.
The collection features a clear military influence, with details integrated into minimalist lines.
It includes epaulets, patch pockets, contrasting trims, leather detailing, buttons with military motifs and quilted garments – all in a colour palette which transforms the different shades of khaki into the neutral shades of the season.
There is also a clear influence of architectural shapes which provide new volumes and place special emphasis on voluminous sleeves and waists with ruffles on skirts and dresses.
Winter black or white top-to-toe looks are very important for these silhouettes, although bright and deep colours like cobalt blue also bring great energy to autumn.
Rich wool structures like bouclé, tweed, herringbone or houndstooth, in black and neutral shades, add richness to outerwear with low oversized shoulders.
Prints have also been used to create different effects that imitate these classic textures.
