Till thief snapped on CCTV confesses
A Romanian man yesterday confessed to stealing €2,700 in salaries from restaurant staff two Sundays ago.
Silvius Pileander, 25, resident in Swieqi, was seen on CCTV going behind the unattended counter and taking the wad of cash from the till of the Aroma restaurant in Sliema.
Restaurant owner Mario Pisani helped the police investigation by posting online a picture lifted from the CCTV showing Mr Pileander.
Mr Pileander was arrested at his house late on Monday and was found to have dyed his hair blonde to hide his identity.
Defence lawyer Roberto Montalto said his client suffered schizophrenia, adding that while his client was admitting guilt, he would still ask for the case to be put off until evidence could be produced. The case was put off by a week.

maybe your right but would you prefer that the owner or waiter got beaten up???
mela hallina habib u tejx hmerijiet!!!!
this guy is a habitual thief and deserves to have the amount of money he stole from both establishments returned to their owners , plus he has to pay all court expenses, including his ticket for a flight back to Romania and a big persona non grata stamped on his travelling documents.
end of case and wait for the next Alien to commit a crime and should be sujected to the same treatment no questions asked!!!!!
