Prison visits will be moved to alternative rooms after some plastering fell off the ceiling in the hall known as Id-Debituri, the prison director said yesterday.

An architect inspected the structure, which has been closed to the public.

In a press statement, the director said that prison visits would continue as usual.

However, relatives of prisoners called in to say they had been prevented from visiting inmates on Tuesday and yesterday.

Questions sent to the authorities remained unanswered by the time of going to print.
