The government has announced price cuts on 14 medicines following agreement with the importers.
The cuts were part of a process which has so far seen price reductions for 253 medicines.
Among the price cuts are are widely used Augmentin, whose price has been reduced by ’€6.89. The price of Tamsol is down by €4.40, Amoxil by €0.75 and Xanax by €1.36.
The medicines in today's list are used for the treatment of infections, inflammations, fits, prostate illness, skin conditions and anxiety. The list also includes antibiotics.
