• Today, the Capuchin friars of Victoria are celebrating the feast of Our Lady of Graces. Mgr Felix Tabone will lead a concelebrated Mass at 9am. A pilgrimage with motorcycles and bicycles leaves Ta’ Pinu Sanctuary at 11am. On arrival at the sanctuary, Fr Karm Dimech will blessall participants.

Fr Daniel Grech will lead a solemn Mass at 6pm; it will be followed by the procession with the statue of Our Lady of Graces at 7pm. The Leone Band will take part. The Fjur t’Assisi choir, under the direction of Marita Cassar, will participate.

• The annual children’s funfair will be held at the playing field in Pjazza tad-Dehra in Għajnsielem today between 5 and 10pm. The event is being organised by Buzzy Kids Entertainment in collaboration with the Għajnsielem council.

• Children aged between nine and 13 who wish to experience a live-in before summer ends may do so with the Oasi Foundation, which is holding Sohle between Tuesday and Thursday. Price per child is €30, including food and accommodation. To book, call 2156 3333 and ask for Andrea or Daniela.

• The University Gozo Campus is holding a gastronomic evening at the University Gozo Campus, Mġarr Road, Xewkija, on Wednesday at 7.30pm. Prof. David Cooper will give a lecture on The Pleasures and Perils of Food, after which traditional Maltese food and wine will be served. For reservations call 2156 4559 during office hours.

• An End of Summer Wine Festival will be held at Ta’ Mena Estate, Rabat Road, Xagħra (on the way to Marsalforn) on Friday, the night of the equinox. The evening will feature classic rock music from the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s performed by local bands. The price is €17 per person, including food . Doors open at 7.30pm. • A half-day seminar will be held for people suffering from arthritis on October 5 at 9am at the Exhibition Hall, Gozo Ministry, Victoria. The guest speakers include Prof. Carmel Mallia, founder of the Arthritis Association. The aim of the seminar is to launch a support group for Gozitans with this condition.
