More woes followed for Rabat as three minutes from the break, goalkeeper Mintoff suffered a facial injury in his bid to block Dias cross and was replaced by Jonathan Azzopardi.

Hibs added a third goal in time added on when Ryan Camilleri was upended in the area by Dylan Falzon with referee Malcolm Spiteri immediately pointing to the spot. Jackson Lima stepped up for the kick and drilled the ball past Azzopardi.
