Guide dogs improve the quality of life of blind people and the Government should help out more by funding their training and purchase, according to the Malta Guide Dogs Foundation.
Foundation president Joseph Stafrace said that, with more help and awareness about accessibility problems, it would be easier for blind people to integrate in society.
Mr Stafrace was speaking to Labour leader Joseph Muscat who said the Government policy in support of blind people should go beyond “ramps and pavements”.
