Court upholds water taxi warrant of prohibitory injunction
The Transport Authority cannot put into effect a port notice denying water taxis landing access in several areas after the court this morning upheld a warrant of prohibitory injunction filed by three water taxi businessmen.
Joseph Gheiti, Johann Micallef and Ivan Zammit, who own water taxis and other commercial vessels, had claimed that port notice denied them landing at the Sliema Ferries, Marsamxett, Lascaris Wharf and the Inner Dockyard Creek.
They had claimed that the notice was in breach of regulations since it denied them access to entire areas without specifying particular zones.
The water taxi owners were represented by Daniela Mangion and Gabrielle Zammit.
