GO gives free SMSs after service glitch
GO said today that as a gesture of good will after the service problems of September 6, its mobile phone subscribers will be given 100 SMSs free of charge.
For Pay As You customers, the free SMS will be valid for other GO mobile numbers and can be used over the weekend 29-30 September 2012.
GO Pay Monthly customers on unlimited tariff plans will enjoy 100 SMSs to any local network for free, while the free SMS to subscribers on any other Pay Monthly tariff plan will be valid towards GO mobile numbers only.
All Pay Monthly customers will be able to benefit from their free SMS throughout October.
Markus Golder, Chief Commercial Officer at GO said: “We want to take this opportunity to make it up to those impacted by the outage for the inconvenience and frustration they experienced over the disruption period. This further emphasises GO’s commitment to its customers.”
“We truly appreciate our customers’ support through such a difficult period last week. Our gesture of goodwill is aimed as a thank-you to all our customers affected by the mobile service outage,” he said.

I am shocked reading this junk below! Are you the same ones that usually complain that nothing is given back when disaster happens? Are you the same ones that complain about the lack of compensation culture in our country? Most probably you are. The greedy ones that have never enough. The unsatisfied crowd that whine safley behind the PC screens. Lol! I, like many that do not bother to air mud here, would like to thank Mr. Golder for this brave move. You weren't compelled giving out nothing but you did. maybe it is not much, but back at school they always taught us to say 'thank you' when somebody gestures me, no matter how small that token might be. But good manners seem to be scarce with this portion of our society
Does anybody know what Voda gave to US customers following the recent period without service?
N-O-T-H-I-N-G!!
So go on and suit yourself, come and join on this side of the fence! I am crossing back over today!!

Dear Mr Golder, don’t you think it is better to upgrade the fixed telephone line system at Luqa – Indri Micallef Str. Some months ago we tried to upgrade our GO TV to Interactive HD, but the reply we had is that the telephone lines in the area are still to be upgraded and Interactive HD system won’t work. We are still waiting for a reply from your company, or we need to switch to another TV service to get Interactive HD.

This is another Very Funny Joke on Go Customers ..... What i can say to all mobiles owners is dont stick to one firm go from one comp to another ... just jump on offers after all we have the right to keep out mobiles numbers ... About our mobile servers we dont realy have a good choice to choose and we only have to choose the best from the worst ...

LOL... Good one. So I need to burn out my mobile and send 100 SMSs in 2 days between 29 & 30th September. If Mr Golder thinks that this "compensation" is a sign of goodwill, then he should attend a customer care seminar so he can understand how a client should be treated.

This happened on the 6th.
What about us who since 3rd September are still without a fixed line service and internet comes and goes at one third of the speed?
Several calls and emails to GO served for nothing. I gave them three mobile numbers for a line technician to call us on. How can one believe Customer Care that we're in a queue of multiple complaints and will be seen to accordingly?
A one or two day delay would have been acceptable but this situation has been going on for 11 days now!!!
Some EU standards we have here.

This is a pathetic excuse for compensation. €5 that in reality costs the company €0, and that also needs to be spent over a specific weekend. Who sends 100 SMSes over a weekend any way? Did it not cross Go's mind that their prepaid customers (like me) might also have a life?

free SMSs on the unlimited tariff plans? I might need some help with defining the word unlimited!!
John Bonnici
Sep 13th 2012, 17:53
technically its not unlimited, as to what I had been explained when I did my contract, with the unlimited tariff plan you are given around 500 free sms to any network.
Joseph Fenech
Sep 13th 2012, 17:55

GoDaddy offered me one month free hosting because of the cyber attack they suffered this week. I believe 100 Free SMSs were a reasonable offer but in the event one could used them indefinitely and not just over 2 days.

"For Pay As You customers, the free SMS will be valid for other GO mobile numbers and can be used over the weekend 29-30 September 2012." - dawn bis-serjeta? or for mr golder's benefit "are you for real?"
I think that this is absolute discrimination because all the inconveniences suffered by those on monthly contracts was experienced by us on a Pay as You Go subscribtion. Who is it that can make use of 100 SMS in just two days and ONLY to GO Numbers.
D Portelli
Sep 13th 2012, 16:38
JOKE OF THE DAY!! GO you didn't give as anything. We already have unlimted sms (2000/month) in our contract which we don't use all. A compensation of the montly payment would have been better, maybe a refund of the day. The situation is that you didn't give us anything at all.

Go and other mobile operators have a way of getting free publicity any way they can but such adverts are only for the gullible!!!
I totally agree with you George Caruana... why should GO dictate to us when we should use the free smses being given as compensation for the service glitch? Why doesn't GO treat us customers with some respect and give free smses to all users to be used by the end of the month to all local networks?
And to those who are still without a telephone line, the days without the line should be reflected in the rental agreement date being put forward accordingly and some extra days added for the inconvenience.
And I'd like to take this opportunity to say that GO should adjust its tariffs downwards for those with an internet service in addition to a landline to compensate it's customers for the need to pay rent on both, some people have a phone line just for internet and I do not think that this is fair considering the competition that uses cable not the telephone line!
And on a final note, what about upgrading the reception in my area (birkirkara) which complaint has been ignored for the past years.... have to go out on the road to have a good reception... thanks GO!

really its good saying they will offer 100 free sms but who really sends that many messages over a 2 day period.
If people do send that many are all of their contacts GO subscibers.
Come on now GO dont try and make something look great when really u know its not, give a proper compensation give a week period for sms to be sent ot all networks
