Obituary
FENECH. On September 9, at Sir Paul Boffa Hospital, MONICA, née Ventura, of Mosta, aged 66, passed away peacefully to join her husband Charles in heaven. She leaves to mourn her loss her daughter Charmaine and husband Conrad, her son Pierre and his wife Jennifer, her grandchildren Giancarl, Gabriel, Christabelle and Miraine, her brother Frank and his wife Miriam, her sister Cathleen and her husband John, her brother Charles and his wife Wilma, her sister Marianne and her brother John, the brothers and sisters of her husband and their families, as well as relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 3 p.m. for St Mary’s parish church, Mosta, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 3.30pm, followed by interment in the family grave at Mosta cemetery. Donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, or Hospice Malta, Balzan, would be appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.
WISMAYER – JOSEPH VICTOR. Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, in Ontario, on August 11, in his 93rd year. Beloved husband of the late Roseanna, née Frendo, and dear father to Damaris Wismayer-Frendo, Patricia, Ivan and Jean, Ingrid King, Audrey and Alexander Wach, Hector and Caroline and Selwyn. Cherished grandfather to 16 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Sadly missed by his brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. He worked with the MUT in Malta and the City of Toronto. Joseph also served as a Knight of Malta and was the oldest member of the Toronto Priory. A Mass for the repose of his soul will be said next Sunday at 5.30pm at St Barbara church, Valletta.

Works on Regional Road
Transport Malta will be carrying out scarifying works along the northbound carriageway of Regional Road on the stretch between the Santa Venera tunnels and the University tunnels between 7pm today and 6am tomorrow.
Traffic will be diverted to the slip-road down to Valley Road, Msida, and up the slip-road past the Form/Dunlopillo showrooms.
Asphalting will be carried out between tomorrow night and Thursday.
Scarifying works will be carried out on the southbound carriageway of the same stretch between 7pm on Thursday and 6am of Friday. One lane will be left open for traffic and asphalting will be carried out between Friday night and Saturday.
Prohibited beaches
St George’s Bay in St Julian’s has been added to the list of beaches where swimming is prohibited due to a sewage overflow.
The Environmental Health Directorate yesterday said bathing was not recommended at St George’s Bay because of sewage overflow and health warning signs indicating the affected zones had been put up in the areas.
The directorate warned that bathing in Xlendi Bay, Gozo, and in the area known as Il-Fekruna in Xemxija was still not recommended.

Electoral Register
Those who turn 18 until the Friday before Election Day and are listed in the Electoral Register must ensure their name appears in the revised register that will be published within five days from the publication of the election writ.
Those who are about to turn 18 in the coming months and would like to register can call at the Electoral Office, Evans Building, St Elmo Place in Valletta, or 28A, St Francis Square in Victoria, Gozo, during the following office hours as follows:
Monday to Friday between 7.30am and 2pm and on Saturdays between 7.30am and 10.30am.
On Wednesdays the office is also open also from 3pm until 6pm.
