Three men who run a water taxi business, have filed a judicial protest against the Transport Authority over a port notice that denies them access to several landing places.

Joseph Gheiti, Johann Micallef and Ivan Zammit explained that they owned water taxis and other commercial vessels. A port notice issued by the authority denied them landing at the Sliema Ferries, Marsamxett, Lascaris Wharf and the Inner Dockyard Creek.

In the protest they claimed that the notice was in breach of regulations since it denied them access to entire areas without specifying particular zones. They called on the authority to revoke the port notice and held the authority liable for damages.

Lawyers Gabrielle Zammit and Daniela Mangion represented the three men.
