Middlesea Insurance is planning to launch a mobile app to allow motor insurance customers easy access to round-the-clock roadside assistance and breakdown anywhere in Malta, Gozo and the rest of Europe from their mobile phones.

Motor policyholders can download the iAssist app for free which is ready for use in case of emergency.

The new app falls under Middlesea’s philosophy to provide added value services to its clients.

The iAssist app can be downloaded for free on any smartphone from the Android Market, Google Play, iTunes and BlackBerry App World. With a single touch, the app will automatically reach the 24x7 call centre and a tow truck will be dispatched to the client’s exact location through GPS technology. Clients will also be provided with the estimated time of arrival of the assistance service.

Middlesea free roadside assistance and breakdown service provides customers with on the spot repair in case of mechanical or electrical breakdown, battery boost and flat tyre assistance, towing following a breakdown or accident, second delivery service if the vehicle breaks down during the night, on a weekend or public holiday, transportation of occupants, fuel delivery, and locksmith service.

“The new Middlesea motor app is making this valuable service more accessible, efficient, fast and easy to use. This app helps us put our brand promise ‘if it matters to you, it matters to us’ into practice,” chief officer underwriting Keith Mallia Milanes said.

The Middlesea Motor App is the latest innovation by Middlesea Insurance, which recently also extended its 24x7 roadside assistance services across Europe for all comprehensive policy holders and those with third party fire and theft and third party only cover who have upgraded their roadside assistance cover to full.

The assistance cover is available either by calling the Maltese Middlesea Assist call centre number or by using the Middlesea motor app.
