Can we get real? Was the statement about the Gonzi-as-Gaddafi photo really issued by the PN top brass? Or was it—please say yes—a spoof? Was it the labour super slick PR guys playing around with such crassness? Did these PR supremos show great novelty by issuing the silly statement and making the PN and its leader seem super duper sensitive and daft?

Oh let’s grow up and accept humour for what it is—even if it is dumb dim and downright demented like my own humour. Let’s live with humour and laugh a bit at ourselves even when we are being serious.

Only then—when we accept to laugh at ourselves and not take everything literally—will we manage to live, if not in harmony, at least with laughter to keep us going and hale. We will remain sane only when we poke fun and let others poke it back at us: even if the poking sometimes hurts.

When we are spoofed and get all spooked the times are definitely getting harsher.
