Malta’s leading media organisation has just undergone an editorial revamp as The Times, The Sunday Times and timesofmalta.com move with the ever-changing media landscape.

The three media have been fused into one structure that is now operating from a purpose-built, open-plan environment on the third floor of Strickland House in St Paul Street, Valletta.

Steve Mallia heads the media structure in the newly created role of editor in chief. He has been editor of The Sunday Times since 2007.

Herman Grech, previously deputy editor of The Sunday Times, has taken on the role of Head of Media, tasked with the day-to-day coordination of the three media.

Other appointments include Anthony Manduca as Sunday Executive, with specific responsibility for The Sunday Times; Ray Bugeja as Head of Content; Mark Wood as Head of Night Editorial; Chris Scicluna as Online Executive, with specific responsibility for timesofmalta.com; Ariadne Massa as Head of Content (News); Fiona Galea Debono as Head of Content (Features); Joanna Ripard as Head of Business; and Mark Micallef as Chief Reporter.

Mr Mallia said: “These are challenging and exciting times for the industry. The way The Times is changing as a media organisation reflects what is going on in the rest of the world.

“Our newspapers have unrivalled credibility, and timesofmalta.com has grown exponentially in recent years as the market leader.

“Our aim is to build on that and bring new experiences to our ever-expanding audience.”
