Film production company Maya Vision International will be in Malta in the coming weeks to film a documentary for the BBC.
The 59-minute documentary will focus on Malta’s heroic stand during the World War II siege of 1940-42 and will be presented by author and historian James Holland.
It will have access to first-hand testimonies from those who fought for the freedom of Malta, and rarely-seen documents that help us better understand the offensive role Malta also played during this time.
The documentary is scheduled to be aired early next year. Maya Vision International has already produced works for the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5, PBS and the UK Film Council, among others.
The company took the decision to film in Malta after attending a series of information sessions hosted by the Malta Film Commission at Harrods, London as part of the ‘This is Malta’ showcase, which took place earlier this year.
