Seventeen boats are expected to set sail from Valletta today to race in the Tommy Hilfiger Ramla Bay Resort Regatta organised by the Royal Malta Yacht Club (RMYC).

One of the club’s most popular events, this regatta has been held annually for several years now and includes races for keelboats as well as for smaller dinghies many of which are sailed by the younger sailors.

After today’s first race, the keelboat regatta will continue with more racing tomorrow and on Sunday. Races for dinghies start tomorrow morning and continue on Sunday.

The prize-giving ceremony will be held soon after the last races at Ramla Bay on Sunday.

As has been the custom in recent years, the club will present a contribution from the proceeds of the event to the Malta Sailing Federation in aid of its coaching programme.
