Libyan accused of throwing out flat's furniture
A 33-year-old Libyan who lives in St Paul’s Bay was this morning granted bail against a personal guarantee of €3,000 after he pleaded not guilty to misappropriating €4,000 worth of furniture.
Police Inspector Joseph Busuttil told the court that the police were looking for El Shahumi Isam Mohamed, who was renting a furnished apartment from James Grech, to carry out a warrant of arrest for an unrelated issue.
The police went to Mr Mohamed’s apartment with Mr Grech, the owner, and there they found the apartment bare, without any furniture
Mr Mohamed claimed he threw away the furniture because it had been infested by woodworm.

I advise you to know what has actually happened before you comment mr. bonello. Will you live with a family of 5 young children in a place where the furniture is full of 'susa'? And I'm talking about new born babies. And if you'd like to talk about the 'african's', do you know that some of them are being bullied and beaten by the maltese? How ill treated they are by neighbours? The fact taht they are given the worst apartments by landlords including some similar to basements, still with a rent above 250 euros per month? The maltese population is no longer the the one with the halo like we used to be. SHAME.

and then some Africans complain that they are being mistreated when owners refuse to rent places to them. Of course not all of them are the same and I am sure some are much cleaner than the maltese but if it were your apartment and your furniture - would you take the risk - cause i know i wouldnt!
