Għargħur feast

I wish to express my total disapproval at the way the feast of St Bartholomew was celebrated at Għargħur on Friday and Saturday, the two days of national mourning declared by the government following the death of former Prime Minister Dom Mintoff.

Other localities celebrating the feast of their patron saint suspended their programmes on these two days to show respect to a former prime minister of all Maltese, irrespective of their political beliefs. I expect Fr Anton Gouder, the Archbishop’s delegate for village feasts, to intervene.
