Could new Dallas lead to return of Dynasty?

Actress of the hit 1980s soap opera hopes for show revival

Stephanie Beacham hopes that the return of Dallas to TV screens will lead to a revival of Dynasty.

The 65-year-old actress, who played Sable Colby in the hit 1980s show, has discussed the possibility of a comeback with Joan Collins, who portrayed her rival Alexis Carrington in the hit show.

With a revamped Dallas soon to hit screens, Beacham said: “I feel that Joan and I ought to be doing Dynasty. Joan and I have talked about it.”

But she doesn’t hold out much hope for the series’ return.

“Aaron Spelling, who produced it before, is dead and I don’t think it’s likely. But we’d be up for it.”

Linda Gray, Larry Hagman and Patrick Duffy are among the original Dallas cast members joining a new generation of Ewings when the show begins next month.

The new, younger actors include Jordana Brewster, Josh Henderson andDesperate Housewives hunk Jesse Metcalfe.

Asked if she plans to watch it, Beacham said: “Yes, but only to see how they slot the oldies in.”
