Traditional grape pressing using bare feet was among the features of a Grapes Festival held by Siggiewi local council this evening.

The festival, at the height of the grape harvesting season, included a wine-making competition, the sale of grapes and grape products including many varieties of wine.

The hundreds of people who turned up could also enjoy traditional food and entertainment.

Meanwhile, a Wine Festival will be held in Qormi next Friday and Saturday evening. An exhibition of the traditions of wine-making has opened in an old windmill near St George Church.
