A picture is worth a thousand words, and a total of €500 in prizes are available to be won in a photo story competition launched recently by the European Union Programmes Agency.
The competition is part of the agency’s campaign to raise awareness about the Lifelong Learning and Youth in Action programmes and the opportunities they provide for EU citizens of all ages. The theme of the competition is ‘Participation in society’.
The public is being invited to submit photo stories presented as slideshows consisting of a sequence of four to six digital photographs. Each image must be linked to the other in a logical manner. The aim is to tell one complete story.
Each image in the photo story may be supported by a caption of up to 160 characters but the story must be understandable even without the captions.
Clarity and simplicity are essential, because the photo stories need to be understood by everyone.
