Maltese student Veronica Farrugia Drakard recently took part in a creative summer camp in Barcelona, Spain, organised by ‘Generation 1992’ to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the European Single Market.
The summer camp’s aim was to help 20-year-olds to express their vision and opinions of Europe in different creative formats including text, photos, videos, cartoons or Smartphone apps.
Around 30 youths born in 1992 from EU countries took part in the event and had the opportunity to meet creative professionals, inspiring young artists and entrepreneurs. Their creations will eventually be entered into the Generation 1992 competition taking place later this year.
The camp was divided into three stages. The initial stage was a brainstorming session led mainly by Christian Vanizette of the Make Sense Foundation, designed to clarify the concept of the single market and to generate discussion and ideas. The second stage consolidated ideas in various workshops.
Veronica took part in the cartoon workshop, which was held at Escola Joso and led by Santi Casas, a renowned comic artist who has produced work for DC Comics, among others.
