Applications are being received online for over 260 part-time evening courses beginning in October organised by the Malta College of Arts Science and Technology.
The courses, held during weekday evenings or Saturday mornings, are aimed at adults who cannot follow full-time education but who would still like to acquire qualifications for new jobs or career advancement, or to learn more about subjects that interest them. Students aged 16 and over may also apply.
The courses include 37 new offerings, including Astronomy Basics, Children’s Learning Activities and Play, Decontamination Management, Dry Stone Wall Restoration (in collaboration with Majjistral Park), Herbalism for Self Healing – Advanced, Preparation and Marble Laying on Stairs, Scientific Horticulture – The Art and Science of Growing Healthy Plants, and Wine Tasting.
Mcast is also offering new courses in lift installation, maintenance and repair in collaboration with the Malta Lift Association, courses for drivers of passenger transport in collaboration with Transport Malta to offer the Certificate of Professional Competence, courses in LPG installations for fitters and engineers in collaboration with the Malta Resources Authority, as well as a new advanced course entitled ‘Leadership for Business’ in collaboration with the Foundation for Human Resources Development.
Four new courses for technical personnel aspiring to work on the installation and repair of different stationary refrigeration systems are also being introduced.
Mcast is also introducing evening courses leading to the Matsec Advanced or Intermediate level exams in various subjects.
These courses are ideal for people who would like to deepen their knowledge of particular subjects, or who require these qualifications to continue their studies at tertiary level.
