3a launches custom-based quality management system

3a Accountants, the firm of accountants, auditors and business advisors, recently launched its custom-based quality management system, created in collaboration with Misco consultant Richard Tate, the project leader.

3a QMS encapsulates the core values of the firm and the essential disciplines required to deliver consistently high standards of service quality. The system was designed to encapsulate the key principles of quality management, in particular customer focus, the process approach, involvement of people and continual improvement. Such principles have been chosen to compliment 3a’s core values: customer benefit, commitment to employees, ethics & integrity and socialresponsibility.

The system ensures the customer is the central consideration of all operational processes and support activities. Each process has been implemented according to best practices, and effectiveness is regularly checked and reviewed with clear traceability.

There is a strong commitment to measuring organisational performance, both in terms of how activities are carried out and in results achieved.

The QMS is an amalgamation of models such as the ISO9001 standard and the business excellence model. Whereas the ISO9001 standard has been best known for ensuring that customers benefit from a disciplined compliance to prescribed requirements, the excellence model offers a focus on a variety of business and quality outcomes – results – that can be directly linked to the resources and processes –enablers.

The system is based on compliance to provide consistency and improvement to promote excellence. It is intended that the QMS can become a blueprint for the consistent deployment of the quality principles and corporate values within the 3a Global Accounting Network.

Meanwhile, the firm will shortly be moving to another floor within Palazzo Ca’ Brugnera in Birkirkara’s Valley Road with a view to doubling office space capacity to better manage consistent company growth.
