Acclaimed graphics novel writer Mike Carey, best known for his work on X-Men, Ultimate Fantastic Four and Lucifer, will be taking part in the forthcoming Malta Comic Con (MCC) 2012 on December 8 and 9. The event is organised by Wicked Comics.
Carey, born in Liverpool in 1959, has worked extensively in the field of comic books, completing long and critically acclaimed runs on some of the most well-loved graphic novel characters.
His ongoing comic book series for DC Vertigo, The Unwritten, has featured repeatedly in the New York Times’ graphic novel bestseller list and he has been nominated for 11 Eisner Awards.
Carey is also the writer of the Felix Castor novels, five of which are now in print in the UK and three in the US, and (along with his wife Linda and their daughter Louise) has also written The Steel Seraglio, released in the US by Chizine Publications earlier this year and due to be published in the UK by Victor Gollancz in 2013.
“We are delighted to have such a talented writer at this years’ MCC. Carey’s extensive bibliography is as impressive as the quality of his work. I have yet to read something bearing his signature which has failed to impress me,” Wicked Comics co-founder Chris Le Galle said.
