New issue of Flimkien out

Another issue of Flimkien, the magazine published by the College of Parish Priests of the Archdiocese of Malta, is being distributed free in homes across Malta.

In the magazine’s editorial, Mgr Anton Portelli writes about the number of people who volunteer their services at their parish church.

Some others, however, seek preferential treatment from the parish priest because of these services. Mgr Portelli (also the editor of the magazine) quotes Jesus Christ, who taught us not to do things with the aim of garnering profit. It is God who will reward us for our efforts.

Archbishop Paul Cremona writes in his page that the amount of time we are willing to dedicate to something is an indication of how close to our hearts it may be. In his article ‘Skond Kemm hi għal Qalbek’ (It all depends on how dearly you hold it), Mgr Cremona writes that the more frequently we attend Holy Mass, especially on a Sunday and feast days, the more interest it arouses in us, thus strengthening our hearts more.

Other articles in this issue include ‘L-Ingassa taċ-Chain E-mails’ (The problem of chain e-mails), which warns us against the myriad chain e-mails we receive on a daily basis. Dietrich Bonhoeffer writes about the challenges Christians face in this world; ‘X’Hemm Spiritwali f’Tibdila ta’ Nappy?’ (How can changing a nappy be considered spiritual?) teaches married couples to seek the spiritual value in every mundane thing they do throughout their life together.

Other articles of interest, particularly for couples who are raising a family, include ‘Il-Koppja li Tilgħab Flimkien Tibqa’ Flimkien’ (The couple that plays together stays together) and ‘The A, B, Cs of Child Raising’. There are also contributions from readers and games with prizes.
