Aogo: Hamburg full-back Dennis Aogo is in talks with Lazio who are seeking to strengthen their defence by adding the German to their squad. Aogo, 25, is of Nigerian descent. If the deal goes through, Lazio are expected to pay around €6m to get their transfer target before the end of the month.

McEachran: Chelsea youngster Josh McEachran, 19, admits he is ready to go out on loan this season to get some regular first-team football. The summer signings of Eden Hazard, Oscar and Marko Marin have pushed McEachran further down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge. “For my career I think it’s important to play regularly and pick up as much experience as possible, and that’s what I’m looking to do,” said McEachran. “There are a few teams in England interested and it’s just about picking the right club for me.”

Benfica: Benfica were held to a 2-2 draw by Braga after their defender Lorenzo Melgarejo scored an own goal and then gave the ball away cheaply for another in a disappointing start to the Portuguese league season for the title hopefuls. They salvaged a point when striker Oscar Cardozo struck with a late penalty but Benfica failed to find a winner at the end of an electrifying second half at a packed Luz stadium.

Rolin: Uruguay’s Nacional Montevideo are on the verge of letting their defender, Alexis Rolin, leave the club and sign for Catania in Serie A in a deal worth around €5 million, reports said. The 23-year-old has been linked with the likes of Milan and Inter this summer but it now seems that Catania had done enough to win the bidding war.

Neto: Portuguese defender Luis Novo Neto, 24, has joined Siena from Nacional de Madeira. No details of the transfer were released but agreement was reached earlier this month only for the final documents to have delayed the move to become official.
