Ph.D from Manchester University

Dr Gordon Moran was recently awarded a Ph.D in Gastroenterology by the University of Manchester, UK. His doctoral research was on the role of the enteroendocrine system in appetite regulation and on the control of gut mucosal integrity in intestinal inflammation, specifically Crohn’s Disease. He has recently also completed a 12-month clinical fellowship in Inflammatory Bowel Disease at the University of Calgary, Canada, under the supervision of Dr Remo Panaccione. He is currently working in the UK.

Cingratulations and Prosit.
Malta seems to be accellerating in gaining top qualifications. I hope that these people will be respected when they return to Malta.
When I returned to Malta, I was to replace a UNESCO senior Lecturer and to be paid £9000 and when I came to take over, Miss Mortimer the Director of education would only rate PhDs in those days at £1400.
I do hope that these people will not suffer my fate!
