Abacus’ Garry Crossan and Barbara Jolly will promote the islands’ attributes at one of the most important events of the year.

Representatives from fiduciary services specialists Abacus will be attending the Monaco Yacht Show next month to promote the company’s range of yacht ownership services and the benefits of using the Isle of Man and Malta.

Chief executive for Malta Garry Crossan and yacht and aircraft manager Barbara Jolly will represent Abacus at the event, which is considered one of the most important events on the yachting industry’s calendar.

Now in its 22nd year, the show is the largest in Europe, particularly for the luxury end of the yacht market and expects to welcome more than 500 exhibitors, 30,000 visitors and 100 yachts. The show is recognised as an annual meeting place for yachting clients and industry professionals worldwide.

“With offices located in the Isle of Man and Malta, we are ideally positioned in two of the world’s leading shipping jurisdictions,” Mr Crossan said. “Though similar in many of their qualities, both have individual attributes which, depending on a client’s objectives and intended use, may be of benefit to the ownership and operation of their yacht. The Isle of Man was top place in the flag state performance table 2011.”

Ms Jolly explained the event was a valuable networking platform with an assortment of attendees including business leaders, yacht owners, yacht brokers, charter agents, management companies, government officials and shipyards.

Abacus’ yacht services are aimed at owners and their representatives, with a focus on ownership planning, tax and administration.
