After almost four decades playing in the band he formed on Christmas Day 1975, Iron Maiden’s iconic bass player and chief songwriter Steve Harris will be releasing a solo album.
The news was announced on several metal websites some weeks ago, and clearly states that the album – which is to be called British Lion – is only a side project, which will surely please the band’s diehard worldwide following.
According to the announcement on Iron Maiden’s Facebook page, Harris’s solo album, which was produced by Kevin Shirley, will have a “decidedly heavy rock-vibe” and features Richard Taylor on lead vocals, David Hawkins (guitar, keyboards), Grahame Leslie (guitar) and Simon Dawson (drums). British Lions, whose title was inspired by Harris’s pride in being British, features 10 tracks that present a different side of his musical visions and will be released on September 24.
