Releasing the harsh cold reality

Myopic Destiny.

Myopic Destiny.

Formed in August 2009 by drummer Ehren Fenech and guitarist Daniel Aquilina, metal band Myopic Destiny first started taking shape with the addition of bassist Clyde Farrugia and guitairst Daniel Sammut, finally settling into its present five-man formation once vocalist Marc Tanti was recruited.

Ever since, the band has been honing its sound, which is rooted in Metalcore and etched from death metal but boasting a particular groove element.

Despite only playing its first gig in February last year, the band has successfully followed it up with a few but effective live performances alongside Insurgence, Oblique Visions, In The Name Of and Rising Sunset as well as a slot at last year’s edition of top Maltese metalfest X-Treme Metal Assault.

Last January, Myopic Destiny entered the studio to begin work on its full-length debut, The Harsh Cold Reality, an 11-track album which will be officially launched at V-Gen in Paceville on September 1 with a live performance from the band and an opening set from fellow Maltese metal act X-Vandals.

Doors open at 9 p.m. with the first band starting at 10 p.m. Entrance is €3, €10 (including CD) and €13 (including CD and T-shirt).
