Stageline Entertainment and Jagged House have joined forces to stage the End of Summer Music Festival, which will be held on September 7 at the St Margaret College’s Verdala grounds in Cospicua.

Commenting about the event, the organisers said it will be a unique festival in that five of Malta’s leading bands are coming together in one massive concert.

The bands confirmed are Tribali, Ira Losco, Airport Impressions, The Rifffs and Brikkuni, each of them well established in their respective genres, a mixture that stretches from folk to rock via Ska, pop and world music.

Jagged House director Howard Keith said: “This is a first for the Maltese public to have so many top local acts perform full live shows during the same event.” All technical requirements have been provided to ensure a top quality performance throughout, he added.

The venue, chosen particularly because of its size, also forms part of Malta’s historical heritage, namely the Cottonera bastions. “We’re especially pleased to stage such a prestigious event in Cospicua,” said Miriam Fiorini and Johann Scerri of Stageline.

“The positive feedback we received after the Tribali concert in Cospicua last summer has encouraged us to go one stepfurther this year”, they said, describing the festival as “an event not to be missed”.

It must also be said that all the participating bands have either recently released or are drawing close to releasing new albums, certainly another plus in ensuring the performances will reflect the bands at their level best.

Apart from the main stage area with an impressive sound and light system, the festival grounds will also feature various food stalls, bars, a holistic area, a market, an official merchandise stand and an elevated VIP area.

Tickets are available from all Maltapost branches, a limited number from Eden Leisure, online from www.jaggedhouse.com or by calling the hotline 9922 6119. Prices are €13 (standard) or €35 (VIP including a pre-concert party at Cargo Bar and Restaurant in Vittoriosa with the opportunity to meet all the artists). Look up the event page on Facebook for more details.
