Two thieves caught red handed
Two men were arrested by the police early this morning when they were caught red handed trying to burgle a house in Msida.
The incident happened in the early hours in Valley Road.
Informed sources said the police received an anonymous tip-off and quickly arrived on the scene, arresting the two young men.
The residents were not on the house at the time.

The prompt action taken by the police shows that they are very effective where laws are clear! What we need is having clear and unambiguous laws on every contravention such as on:
1. Camping by the sea
2. Noise by neighbours causing a nuisance, such as frequent use of machinery in garages in populated areas. In the UK you do not have to testify against noisy neighbours. Just reporting to the local authority is enough for them to investigate and if the noise if causing a nuisance or LIKELY to cause nuisance, action will be taken (dik ligi biss sens!)
3. Any other nuisance noise in populated areas such as loud music or loud TV.
4. Cars playing loud music while driving
That is what parliament should be doing, making laws that improve our living standards! After all, why did we vote to be a member state in the EU?!
One may say that the police had a tip off, which is true, but how many times have decent citizens reported nuisance noise to the police and no action had been taken?!

i totally agree with what you wrorte;
but apart from all the noise pollution you mentoned action from Mepa or police must be taken against air pollution from asphalt plants and people burning all type of rubbish in their fields.

@ Peter Midler
Why don't we count the number of times that the police actually take such people to court and then both parties decide to forgive one another.Is that action taken and then work down the drain??

Wishful thinking. More like a suspended sentence and "don't do it again".
