‘The 100 Club’ or how to raise money for Noah’s Ark
I would suggest that Noah’s Ark, the animal sanctuary in Mellieħa, promote a plan for regular donations. Small enough that many people would be happy to give, say,€10 a month.
Let’s refer to it as ‘The 100 Club’, hoping they will find 100 people wanting to make a small gesture towards the wonderful work being done by all those associated with Noah’s Ark.
One could perhaps limit the support initially to 12 months.
However, I am sure most would want to continue because as soon as they realise the great joy shown by these abandoned friends, they will soon feel they are part of Noah’s Ark.
It is important that members actually visit on a regular basis, if possible.
That is what will turn it into a real family of people who will fork out far more than €10 a month from their support. Please cut this out, and show it to your friends. They will be glad you did.
If 25 supporters could ask three friends to join in this life-saving plan we will soon have ‘The 100 Club’ and Noah’s Ark will have a guaranteed extra €1,000 a month. Who knows?
It might soon become ‘The 200 Club’? I will pay my €120 up front to encourage others to join me.

I was a student at st aloysius' and once we were taken on a field trip to one of the sanctuaries. we ended up, as a form, sponsoring a dog for a year. we got regular updated and photos of the dog and were allowed to visit and spend time with it whenever we could. since we were a number of students the final cost came to practically nothing..
wouldn't it be wise to make it optional in all schools? certain state schools have more than 100 students per form, that's 1.20 per student per year or less (depending how many students chose to accept the scheme), which is basically nothing! plus adding visits to these sanctuaries as part of the outing scheme, thus raising awareness and educating the younger generations about the importance of taking care of animals and the love that animals show us in return. Does anyone else agree? anyone think it would be possible to forward this to the concerned ministry??

Thank you Nathan for your support and excellent ideas about spreading the word amongst the schools.
Please let's have leadership from Teachers so their pupils can see what great work the Sanctuaries are doing.
Let's have Schools adopting a Sanctuary, and taking an on-going interest in the animals and the work being done.
Whenever possible they should arrange visits. It will increase funds coming in and teach the children the lessons of what happens when a Pet is abandoned, ether to roam the streets, or to be rescued by these fantastic animal lovers.
John.

In the meantime, please do not forget other animal sanctuaries that are in the same dire straits as Noah's Ark.

Excellent idea, John. I will participate. I would just like to add another thing to people who think that they are superior to animals and therefore think that they can abuse, torture and neglect them but most probably call themselves Christians. As far as I learnt, God has everything and everyone created in his image that also includes animals and therefore they should be treated with respect. One cannot breed dogs and then through them on the streets because they are unwanted. A last thing: try to spell the word "human being" backwards. Do you get any sensible meaning from that? Spell DOG backwards and you get the word GOD. There is nothing more to mention.

Thank you Peter. I am most encouraged by the responses so far. I am sure with the help of people like you, this will mushroom into something which may put the Government to shame. How often have they promised support, only for us to discover they were empty words?
Rescuing abandoned animals is the responsibility of the State. The fault is almost entirely of their own making for not regulating animal ownership, ensuring they are all Micro-chipped, and outlawing Puppy Farms
for starters.
Best wishes,
John..
