Health Minister will sue Labour party for libel

Health Minister Joseph Cassar is to sue the Labour Party for libel over reports on One News about the selection processes for a number of medical consultants.

The ministry said in a statement that the PL’s station continued to air its reports in spite of various statements issued by the ministry and the Public Service Commission.

In a reply, One News said its sole aim was to uncover the truth on the irregularities that had taken place.

The case revolves around a decision last year to nominate four medical consultants for vacant posts, despite the fact they did not satisfy eligibility requirements.

The issue has been at the centre of claims and counter-claims by the selection boards in question and the Public Service Commission, which is responsible for the employment of people with the government or government-owned bodies.

Be a hero and sue Prof Laferla and not the Labour party who only reported what Profs. Laferla stated!

Just tell us who is responsible for this irregularity? It has to be someone at least!!!!!! Don't give the human error excuse though. Let's get the culprits and see their heads roll!
