I cannot understand how bus stops are being positioned in some towns and villages. A case in point is the bus stop near The Champs, in St Julian’s. This is constantly creating havoc and confusion more so with the large bendy buses from Arriva and when only a couple of metres away one finds another bus stop which is rightly positioned.
Another badly positioned bus stop is in L-Iklin going up the valley towards Naxxar, which is placed right at a sharp corner going up which I consider it to be a great hazard to motorists and pedestrians alike.
Bus stops should be placed where they do not hinder passing traffic and also considering pedestrian safety.
I would have expected Arriva and Transport Malta to at least conduct deeper studies about the positioning of bus stops, especially bearing in mind the large buses, as there are many more bus stops that are similarly badly positioned.
I hope this plea does not fall on deaf ears.
