A young girl nearly died yesterday after the yacht she was travelling on sank between Malta and Comino.
A doctor on a nearby boat administered emergency CPR after she was pulled from the water.
Once the girl started breathing again, she was hoisted aboard the Armed Forces of Malta’s helicopter and flown to hospital.
A man on the same boat also needed first aid after the seven-person cabin cruiser sank in the Aħrax tal-Mellieħa area at about 5.30 p.m, the AFM said.
He was ferried to Marfa jetty by patrol boat and treated by an ambulance crew. His condition was not serious. Five more people were rescued unharmed from the site.
