A new garden has been inaugurated in Marsalforn, near the car park.

The terraced garden, opened by Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi yesterday, was built at a cost of some €1m.

It covers an area of some 4,400 metres and includes six play areas, a belvedere and a water feature.

Solar lighting was installed, in line with the eco-Gozo project, along with a reservoir.

The garden - called Ġnien tliet Għoljiet - also features a ceramic  Menħir by ceramist Kathleen Formosa.

900 trees have been planted, of which 750 were donated by Magro Brothers to mark the 75th anniversary of the Three Hills brand.

Those present included Gozo Minister Giovanna Debono and Justice Minister Chris Said.
