The confusion that reigns within the Church today is worrying. Certain priests like to promote the ‘Church of Nice’ (the Church where everything can be compromised as long as your conscience accepts it.)
When I was informed about Fr René Camilleri’s refusal to read the Pastoral letter and Fr Joe Borg’s criticism of it, I was not surprised, to say the least.
The two could be considered to be leading figures within the ‘Church of Nice’.
If they are not happy with the Church’s teachings I am sure the Protestants will take them.
While I have no doubt God loves us all, I am not here to speculate about Christian unity.
Had the bishops not stated that “those conceived through IVF are still children of God” we would certainly have had people stating “but they are still God’s children”.
Thus the bishops wanted to avoid this and assure us that such children are not at fault.
Too much time has been wasted on sweet talk. I have nothing more to add accept to stress that the Church is not a democracy.
