EC, the Maltese-owned chain of English language schools, has been shortlisted for two STM Star Awards. These highly-regarded international awards recognise success and excellence in the language travel industry and are voted for by industry peers.
EC executive chairman Andrew Mangion said the nominations reflect EC’s positive relationships with colleagues, partners and students.
“Differentiating ourselves from the crowd with innovative programmes and modern stylish facilities, we have been able to build a strong and trusted brand,” he said.
This year, EC has been nominated in two categories: ‘Junior Course for Under 18s’ and ‘Chain School – Over Five Centres’.
Since 2007, EC has been a finalist nine times, winning STM Star Innovation of the Year Award in 2009 for its EC Malta Freestyle Programme and again in 2010 for its Club 30+ programme, and the STM Star Chain School award in 2011.
The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on September 1 at the London Hilton that will bring together over 800 industry personnel and stakeholders from around the globe.
This year, EC has acquired schools in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver, Canada, and opened two new schools in Miami and Los Angeles, the US.
EC now operates 16 schools in Malta, the UK, the US, Canada, and South Africa.
It intends to continue to expand next year.
