Bank of Valletta has presented this year’s Prize in Medicine to James Borg in recognition of his excellent performance in all final exams at the University of Malta’s Department of Medicine.
Dr Borg obtained the highest mark in this exam and was awarded a grade A with distinction.
The BoV Prize in Medicine was established in 2006 to award the student with the best performance in the final qualifying exams at the department.
The top student was selected following a written assessment and a practical clinical exam lasting an hour which involved 14 examiners, including external examiners from the universities of London and Cambridge.
Dr Borg was presented with the BoV prize by the bank’s head of public relations and social media Vanessa Macdonald, in the presence of Joseph Cacciottolo, head of the University’s Department of Medicine.
Prof. Cacciottolo lauded Dr Borg’s track record throughout his studies, saying he had “a brilliant career ahead of him”.
