Cat food that the rats eat
I am writing once again to express my disgust at the rubbish corner in Ponsonby Street, corner with Anġlu Gatt Street, Mosta.
Apart from the fact that this corner continues to be a rubbish dump from the early hours of the morning and a food store for rats during most of the day, we now have dead rats, with all the health hazards theypresent.
This is all the result of the “kind” lady who comes every day and leaves containers full of food for the cats, which are no longer there. Thus the food is eaten by the rats.

Surely feeding feral animals and vermin, is or should be illegal. And that also goes for the flying rats; pigeons.

Have you checked whether it is cat food or rat food or anything but cat food?. The rat in the picture looks fat and healthy. Beware rats reproduce at an alarming rate. Have you brought 'this' to the attention of both the local council and health department of your town? If yes may be the 'kind' lady is giving rat poison, hence the dead rats you see. It is true rats are a health hazard and may spread diseases even through fleas escaping dead rats so beware again. A bite from a rat is highly risky. Do not try to kill a rat for it may turn upon you. Rats can kill cats maybe that is way there are no cats because the latter being inteligent have abondoned the site -- better safe than bitten or killed by a rat especially if the cats are queens. There are some Toms who risk ( or enjoy) a fight with a rat. Now a days few, if any, are the experienced toms against grown up rats. The experienced toms are mainly found in farm houses where they protect the farm from these rats. In farms these rats are kept at bay by the cats. Usually the fittest surrive ( cats) and believe me they can kill a rat only by stratagem rather than by force. That is why toms are better than queens because the queen is rather more concerned to save yer litter and may be exposed to the body combact with the rat which a cunning animal. Even toms after a victorious fight with a rat may then succomb to infectious injuries and may die of all sorts of diseases. CALL the health officials to deal with rat population.
