Power cut in Gozo villages again
A number of villages in Gozo suffered a power cut for a second successive evening yesterday.
Power was lost at 10.10 p.m. in Sannat, Munxar, Xlendi and Fontana.
A reader said power was restored in Sannat by 11.30 p.m. but other areas were still without power at the time.
On Wednesday-Thursday night, some areas, including Munxar, suffered a 10-hour outage because of what Enemalta said was a fault in a cable between Sannat and Munxar.

We really don't know why in God's name we picked Gozo to spent our retirement days, it is surely a third world country in its own right. I know of people who were stuck in a lift a few times cause of the constant recurrence of power cuts on the island, old peole coming down a flight of stairs in the dark how dangerous can that get?> now finally we have now come to a conclusion that its now time for us expats to move out to a better country. sorry but its a fact, and in this sweltering heat its no joke i can asure you Malta.

It is ok to have your own opinions about Gozo but yours are truly unreasonable !
1. We might not be New York City or Abu Dhabi but we are surely not Kenya. We don't have homeless people like the majority of the other countries. Gozo is known for its peacefulness and beautiful countryside that doesn't define it as A Third World Country ! We have commodities like any other country.
2. It is not our fault if Enemalta had problems and neither is our fault if the power was cut during your stay.
3. If you look at our history the Maltese Island went through dark times from the beginning. Various rulers, air raids, epidemic diseases and much more. The old people here know what is like to be without power, there youth was like that.
4. The heat is part of our Mediterranean Climate, sometimes the heat is suffocating but that ain't our fault either.
Conc.: You should have made a better research about The Maltese Islands before coming here.

Mintoff had been out of power for at least 25 years In the PN manifesto of 1987 there was a point which said Roads and pavements without holes. water in the pipes and electricity without interruption Any Remember these promises

The summer months are ONLY months we get visitors to our island for a holiday. This is not a very good impression we are giving them!

Not just Enemalta, it seems that this administration forgot Gozo altogether. I am finding the same potholes i left 45 yrs ago only they are wider and much deeper.

I hope Enemalta would not issue again stupid excuses and "reasons" behind power cuts! Is the Tarmac melting again? Two power stations and an extension were not enough to abolish power cuts ! Do you remember the famous excuse of sabotage? Will we see it again?

what is going on with these power cuts. What is going on is this. They are cutting power in these localities so that the airconditioning systems can keep going up in hotels, and in the sliema, st julian and valletta areas. That is what my source tell me.
