Grateful for Mission Fund’s support

The Mission Fund of Mosta supports hundreds of Maltese and Gozitan missionaries working in around 40 countries the world over. They receive regular donations on a roster basis to be used for specific purposes according to their needs. These donations are much appreciated by the missionaries as can be seen from the following letter sent by Mgr Sylvester Magro, OFM, Bishop of Benghazi, Libya:

“Dear Mission Fund. Thank you for sending me the precious and generous donations to our missionary Church. Last year’s donation, amounting to €3,000, substantially helped our charitable effort or service towards the poor of this country.

“As you know, last year we experienced the tragedies and horror of a civil war. Though we were spared the devastation of other cities by Divine Mercy, yet, many people, especially the locals, lost their dear ones in the conflict.

“The poor always remain poor. But it is very consoling and spiritually rewarding to be able to alleviate some of the hardships they have to bear, thanks to your generous donation.

“Please accept my expressions of sincere gratitude also on behalf of the poor who are always with us. May God bless Mission Fund and its volunteers and the countless benefactors whose names are known to Him alone and for whom we offer our prayers.

“God bless you.”
