Industrial production dropped slightly in June compared to May and June of last year, NSO figures show.

The NSO said industrial production decreased by 0.3 per cent in June compared to May.  Over the corresponding month last year, working day adjusted industrial production edged down by 0.1 per cent.

The production of consumer goods and capital goods decreased by 4.4 and 0.6 per cent respectively, while the production of intermediate goods and energy went up by 2.1 and 2.4 per cent respectively.
 
When compared to June last year, the index of industrial production decreased by 0.1 per cent. This was mainly attributed to a decline of 6.8 per cent in the
production of consumer goods.

On the other hand, the production of intermediate goods, energy and capital goods increased by 2.3, 6.9 and 4.1 per cent respectively
