Kia’s European plant in Zilina, Slovakia, has set a new production record for the first six months of the year of 149,000 vehicles, a 10 per cent year-on-year increase, the car maker said. At the beginning of the year, Kia Motors Slovakia introduced third-shift working to meet the high volume requirements of the Sportage and the Venga – output was boosted by 17 per cent in the second quarter to meet demand.
