MUSCAT DRAGO. On August 7, at St Vincent de Paul residence, JOE, aged 89, from Sta Lucia, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Lucy, nèe Scalpello, his children Adrian and his wife Helen, Anna and her husband Joe Micallef, Carol and her husband George Portelli Hale and John and his wife Suzanne, his grandchildren Daniel, Pierre, Shaun, Alberta, Matthew, Leanne and Andrew, his sister-in-law Miriam, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves St Vincent de Paul residence tomorrow at 8 a.m. for Sta Lucia parish church where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m. followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Donations to Puttinu Cares will be appreciated. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors at home. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

Requiem Mass

All Masses said next Sunday at the Metropolitan Cathedral, Mdina, will be said for the repose of the soul of President Emeritus GUIDO de MARCO.

Malta film competition

Malta Cine Circle’s annual national film competition will be held at Gemini Hall, Hotel Le Meridien, Balluta tomorrow at 7.30 p.m.

The competition dates back to the 1950s and has seen hundreds of local productions, with some making it to international events.

This year, nine locally produced short films will be screened for free. Places can be reserved on info@goldenknightmalta.org

Trip to Comino

The youth section of Our Lady of Lilies Musical Society of Mqabba is organising a one-day trip to Comino on August 26. Transport will leave Mqabba Square at 7 a.m. For bookings call 7953 9542.
